The scientists at The Schawbel Corp oration patented the ThermaCELL technology, which uses a synthetic analog (chemical copy) of a natural insecticide, pyrethrin, found in the pyrethum flower, a member of the chrysanthemum family, to repel mosquitoes and other biting insects. The GREEN appliance comes with ONE re-usable appliance, ONE butane cartridge, and THREE Insect Repellent Mats. The butane cartridges will last up to twelve hours, and the mats will last up to four hours. Refill "Value Packs" are available in our store and contain 4 butane cartridges and 12 Insect Repellent Mats, enough to power the unit for up to 48 hours. The mats turn from blue to white when they are exhausted.
This is a very wise investment in these days of mosquito-borne diseases. The best protection against these diseases is to not expose yourself to the insects that carry them, but we're not going to just sit inside to avoid them.
